Different usage environments indeed require the selection of different types of stainless steel ball bearings to ensure optimal performance, lifespan, and safety. The following is a point by point introduction:


1. Select material type based on corrosive environment
Mild corrosive environment (such as humid air): Common stainless steels such as AISI 420 or 440C can be used, which have good hardness and moderate rust resistance.
Strong corrosive environment (such as seawater, acidic and alkaline gases): It is recommended to use higher grades such as AISI 316 or ceramic hybrid bearings, which have stronger corrosion resistance.
Food/medical environment: Choose stainless steel (such as 316L) and non-toxic lubricants that meet FDA or hygiene standards.


2. Select the appropriate type based on temperature
Normal temperature environment (0 ℃~80 ℃): Ordinary stainless steel ball bearings are sufficient.
Medium high temperature environment (80 ℃~250 ℃): High temperature lubricating grease or dry lubricating bearings should be selected to avoid lubricant evaporation.
Extreme high temperature environment (>250 ℃): Full ceramic bearings or specially heat-treated stainless steel bearings can be considered.


3. Select structure and accuracy based on load and speed requirements
High speed/low load applications (such as motors and fans): Precision grade bearings (such as P5 and P4 grades) are preferred for smoother operation and lower noise.
Heavy load/impact load environment (such as industrial equipment, conveying devices): Bearings with large contact angles or reinforced structures should be selected for stronger impact resistance.


4. Select the sealing structure according to the sealing requirements
High dust/liquid contact environment: Stainless steel bearings with dust covers (ZZ type) or rubber seals (2RS type) are recommended.
Clean or controllable environment: Optional open type bearings with good heat dissipation and higher rotational speed.


5. Choose the lubrication method based on the lubrication conditions
Difficult to maintain the environment regularly: choose pre lubricated maintenance free bearings or stainless steel bearings with solid lubrication layers.
Frequent cleaning or high cleanliness requirements: Use food grade lubricating grease or dry bearings to avoid contamination.


6. Customized according to industry specific standards
Aviation, medical, precision instruments, etc.: Special materials, cleanliness, and accuracy levels that comply with ISO, ASTM, or industry standards are required.
Underwater or high humidity equipment: It is recommended to use water-resistant stainless steel and designs with stronger sealing properties.
